Two new members have joined the Sikeston Regional Chamber Board of Directors.

Shaun Hanschen and Joey Keys began their terms in the new year. New board members are elected annually for a term of three years and can serve two consecutive terms.

Hanschen grew up in Jackson, Missouri, and attended the University of Missouri Columbia where he graduated summa cum laude with his undergraduate degree in political science in 2001. He graduated in 2004 from the University of Missouri School of Law where he was a member of the Missouri Law Review and the Order of the Coif. Since August 2005, Hanschen has been an attorney at Blanton, Nickell, Collins, Douglas & Hanschen LLC, focusing primarily on litigation. In 2018, Hanschen was awarded the David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award by the Missouri Bar and named one of 45 up and coming lawyers in Missouri by Missouri Lawyers Media.

Hanschen resides in Sikeston with his wife, Scarlett, and two children, Amelie and Sala. His work consists of primarily litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in almost all kinds of civil matters.

According to Hanschen, he joined the board because of his interest in seeing his adopted home of nearly 17 years continue to improve the quality of life for its residents and visitors. He said he will bring his legal perspective to issues facing the board and the community at-large, and he looks forward to serving on the board.

Keys is the president and CEO of the Southeast Missouri Food Bank. He has worked at the food bank for five years and has over 15 years of experience in government and nonprofit leadership. Keys lives in Jackson with his wife and two children. He is chair of the Cape County Park Board, Cape County MU Extension Council, Leadership Sikeston graduate and a member of the Feeding Missouri Board of Directors.

Keys also said he’s excited about serving on Sikeston Regional Chamber’s board.

“Sikeston is an amazing business community filled with leaders that support each other and the growth of the community,” Keys said. “The Sikeston Chamber has great leadership, and I am proud to serve alongside other community leaders to help make Sikeston an attractive place for longtime and new businesses and potential employees.”
