Travis Williams

CHARLESTON, Mo. — Travis Andrew Williams, age 46, died peacefully at his home in Charleston Sunday, March 5, 2023.

Travis was born Aug. 1, 1976, at Sikeston, Missouri, to David and Deborah Leigh Shelby Williams and was a 1995 graduate of Charleston High School. After his high school graduation, he went on to study welding in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and began his career as a welder working on the pipeline. He then went work as a farmer for Marshall Farms in Charleston where he remained until his death.

Travis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Charleston. He loved spending time at Kentucky Lake with his wife and two sons, as he loved them so much. He loved dove hunting, deer hunting and just spending time with his family and friends. Travis was someone who never met a stranger as he would strike up a conversation with anyone. He touched many lives.

Travis is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Clark Williams; his daughter, Shelby Buttrey of Kelso, Missouri; and his two sons, Layton and Landon, of the home; his parents, David and Deb Williams of Charleston; his sister, Ashley (Tim) Weiman of Houma, Louisiana; his brother, Elliott (Carrie) Williams of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and also, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Travis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Opal Hess Williams; Travis Wade “Corky” Shelby; Helen Hunter Shelby Lee; and a dear sweet niece, Averie Lynn Williams.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Scott Moon, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Charleston, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: Brandon Clark, Brooks Clark, Buck Story, Shelby Winchester, Drew Sevic and Taylor Burke.
