Two killed in separate crashes

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — A Portageville woman was killed after being ejected from her vehicle late Tuesday, March 14 in New Madrid County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 8 p.m. on Missouri 152, three miles west of Portageville, as the eastbound vehicle driven by Lily Beth L. Babb, 22, of Portageville ran off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and overturned. She was ejected from the vehicle.

Babb was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:07 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 by New Madrid County Coroner George DeLisle and taken to the DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville.

Earlier Tuesday, a Puxico, Missouri, man was killed in a motorcycle crash, according to the Patrol.

The crash occurred at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday as the southbound motorcycle operated by Dillon S. McGee, 23, of Puxico ran off the right side of the road, struck and embankment, became airborne and struck a tree, the Patrol said.

McGee was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:16 a.m. and transported by Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham to the Stoddard County Morgue in Dexter, Missouri.
