Shirley Owens
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Shirley Ann (Williams) Owens, age 85, died March 16, 2023, from injuries sustained in a car wreck a week prior.
She was a retired schoolteacher and taught at Southeast Elementary School in Sikeston, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Finley and Hallean (Oliver) Williams; and husband, Arthur “Archie/Art” Owens.
Survivors include: her son, Tim Owens; her sister, Sheila Bohannon; brother-in-law, Dr. Larry Bohannon; nephews, Chris Bohannon and Clint (Andrea) Bohannon. She was truly the great aunt to one great-nephew and two great-nieces. Several cousins and dear friends were a constant source of comfort especially after the loss of her beloved husband, Archie.
To fulfill her wishes, only graveside rights with Pastor Mike Johnson officiating will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
