Rodgie Cox
DEXTER, Mo. — Rodgie Wade Cox, son of the late Mary Edith Tucker Cox and Parvin Cox, was born on Oct. 26, 1938, in Tennessee, and departed this life on March 25, 2023, at Southeast Health of Stoddard County in Dexter at the age of 84 years.
Mr. Cox was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a resident of Dexter. He was a long-distance truck driver by profession for over 30 years, after first having been a farmer. Rodgie loved to travel, he was a good mechanic and he helped construct a home for his family.
He was united in marriage to Janice Harris. Mrs. Cox preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 2019.
He is survived by his son, Ronald Cox and his wife Laura Leigh Rampey; and his sister-in-law, Linda Harris.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
