SIKESTON — Dennis Ray “Denny” Brumley, age 73, a resident of Sikeston, died Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Born July 9, 1949, at Cairo, Illinois, to the late Ulyes C. Brumley and Ellen Murphy Brumley, he grew up in Wyatt, Missouri, where he lived most of his life. He was a longtime employee of Gates Rubber Company in Charleston until ill health forced his retirement. In recent years he had lived in Sikeston where he had attended the Old Bethel Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
On March 6, 1980, he married Glenda Butler, who preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2004. He then married Dianne Evans on March 31, 2009, and she survives of the home in Sikeston.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his stepchildren, Michael Hawf, Joseph Scott Brown and John Michael Brown; several grandchildren; his sisters, Terri Brumley DeLong and Kimberlie Brumley Holland; also, a number of cousins.
In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in on death by his brother, Barry Brumley.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Graveside services with full military honors will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Joe McCullough will officiate.
Interment will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
