Steve Hays

SIKESTON — Stephen “Steve” Hays, age 64, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1959, in Wyatt, Missouri, to the late Everett and Nola “Diddie” Hampton Hays.

On May 18, 1995, in Sikeston, he married Frances “Frannie” Campbell Hays who survives of the home.

He is survived by one daughter, Brittney Phillips (Damardrie Stewart) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one brother, Mike (Cissy) Hays of Macedonia, Ohio; one sister, Mary Jane Hays Stroud of Sikeston; two grandchildren, Myah Hicks and Damardrie “Dra” Stewart Jr. of Cape Girardeau.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis Wayne Hays and Junior Hays; one sister, Shirley Dixon and one brother-in-law, Gene Stroud.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 6 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
