Crews battle heavy residential fire in Sikeston

SIKESTON — Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to a structure fire in the 300 block of Luther late Thursday, May 11 in Sikeston, according to DPS. First-arriving units on scene advised DPS’ Fire Division of a heavy fire in the residence. Crews arrived on scene and began to extinguish the fire, according to DPS. Due the size and rapid growth of the fire the inside the of the residence was severely impacted by the fire. Sikeston DPS commended Scott County Rural Fire Department and Morehouse Fire Department for the assistance.
