Pedestrian struck by vehicle, injured near Sikeston

SIKESTON — A Sikeston pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Sunday in Scott County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 7:32 p.m. on Route BB, three miles west of Sikeston, the southbound vehicle driven by Brandon W. Newell. 32, of Sikeston ran off the right side of the road and struck a pedestrian, Ashley E. Patterson, 37, of Sikeston.

Patterson was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
