CMU students earn degrees

FAYETTE, Mo. — Central Methodist University celebrated its spring 2023 commencement on May 13 in Puckett Fieldhouse on the Fayette campus. Former board of trustees chairman Robert Courtney gave the commencement address as a packed house of family, friends, faculty, staff, and other guests celebrated the graduates. Students were recognized for earning degrees at the master’s, bachelor’s, and associate’s levels.

The following local students were among those on the program for the event:

Tessla Ann Clark of Dexter -- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (nursing)

Megan Elizabeth Flowers (cum laude) of Scott City -- Bachelor of Science in Education (early childhood education)

Conner Tres Hampton of Dexter -- Bachelor of Arts (political science)

Savannah Nichole Lovins of Portageville -- Bachelor of Science in Education (early childhood education)

Carlie Reigh Milz of Chaffee -- Bachelor of Science in Education (middle school education)

Courtney Elizabeth Putnam of Dexter -- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (nursing)

Aunna Leah Stone of Sikeston -- Bachelor of Science in Education (early childhood education)

Audrey Jane Vogel of Sikeston -- Bachelor of Science (biology)

Since its founding in 1854, CMU has evolved into a university that confers master’s, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees through programming on its main campus in Fayette, Mo., and through extension sites and online.
