NMCC students recognized for classroom achievements

NEW MADRID, Mo. — The classroom awards were announced May 24 for members of the freshmen, sophomore and junior classes at New Madrid County Central High School. Honorees included:

English 1 - Layla Gaona and Laine McElveen

English 2 - Drake Burton, Sophia Bobo, Kiya Vaught, Jaleecia Walton and Hailey Riggens

New Madrid Elementary School first grader Melody Word was honored on May 24 for attaining perfect attendance during the 2022-23 school year. School officials pointed out that was a total of 165 days or 1,044.52 hours.(Jill Bock/Standard Democrat)

Rhett Henry, a second grade student at New Madrid Elementary, was among the lucky winners on the last day of school.
