Not a Smith fan

Sikeston and our region on June 29 celebrated the opening of the Carlisle Manufacturing group, which is a $100 million-investment for our area. Notably absent was Congressman Jason Smith who has developed a very bad habit of skipping most events in his district and just sending a staffer to represent him. This aloof, callous and brazen attitude of Smith’s is beyond disgusting and Smith was on recess the day of this event. There is no rhyme or reason why he should not have been here in Sikeston for the event. Maybe the press should request a statement from Smith on why he did not bother to attend the event. He needs to be held accountable for this despicable act.

When is the homecoming?

When will the First Baptist Church in Canalou, Missouri, be having their homecoming? I need to know now because I’m making plans to go out of town and I need to know as soon as possible when they are going to have it. And who is going to be there preaching and who is going to be there singing?

Giving law a bad name

Republican lawyers are giving the law a bad name. Or is it Republican Supreme Court judges? I guess it’s all the same.

Senator misquote

Well, our senator, Josh Hawley, got caught in another propaganda lie. He quoted Patrick Henry as saying this nation was founded on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Of course, Patrick Henry never said that, but the great Republican lying machine spread it all over the radio and TV. The quote was from the 1956 edition of “The Virginian” which has been called by historians “a cesspool of racism and anti-Semitism.

Trouble with the law

Soon, another one of Trump’s criminal chiefs will lose his law license after the Washington State Committee recommended 100% for it because of his lies in court and public about the Republican election coup.
