SIKESTON – Ricky Ray Huls, age 75, passed away on July 28, 2023, at his home in Sikeston.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1947, in Matthews, Missouri, to the late Lowell “Bud” and Evelyn Stucker Huls.

On Dec. 1, 1978, in Sikeston, he married Jackie Alford Huls, who survives of the home in Sikeston.

Ricky retired from the Army National Guard in 2007 and then retired from Missouri Delta Medical Center in 2009, after 38 years as a physician assistant and orthopedic technician. He was SFC E7, First Air Cavalry Division, 15th Medical Battalion in Vietnam, with 40 years of service.

He has been a member of Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, for over 15 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Austin Huls of Dallas, Texas; one stepson, Paul (Angela) Shelby of Sikeston; two sisters, Beverly Wright of Sikeston and Vicky Bailey of Matthews; and two grandchildren, Jacob Johnson and Cadence Shelby.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Georg Karl, pastor of Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, officiating.

A private family interment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be: Brian Lewis, Jerrod Lewis, Paul Shelby, Austin Huls, Allen Hollis and Robbie Bailey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Fred Thornton, Dr. Loring Helfrich, Dr. Ly Phan, and Dr. Kevin Rankin.
