CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — American Red Cross disaster responders have been assessing damage to homes in Bollinger and Scott counties following heavy rains and flooding Monday morning in Glen Allen, Marble Hill and surrounding communities.

Individuals whose homes sustained significant damage are asked to stop by the Marble Hill Baptist Church, at 502 Broadway St., Marble Hill, Aug.16 and Aug 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to meet with Red Cross for assistance or call 1-800-Red-Cross if unable to stop by.

A shelter opened to the community Monday afternoon at the Marble Hill Baptist Church for those who needed a place to stay overnight and remained open Tuesday night. It will close Wednesday.
