Fishing field trip

A fifth grader from Sikeston Middle School caught a turtle Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, during the school’s first field trip since COVID-19 at the Sikeston Recreation Complex Lake. The school partnered with Missouri Department of Conservation’s staff in the Southeast Region.

A student enjoys some peaceful fishing Wednesday at the Sikeston Recreation Complex Lake. The Sikeston Parks and Recreation Department coordinated a catfish stocking ahead of the outing to ensure students had ample opportunity to catch fish on their field trip.
