ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Minnie Lee Strachan, 91, of Rochester passed away on Sept. 18, 2023, in Highland Hospital in Rochester. She was born May 15, 1932, in the state of Georgia to the late Johnnie and Jella Fluellen. ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Minnie Lee Strachan, 91, of Rochester passed away on Sept. 18, 2023, in Highland Hospital in Rochester.

She was born May 15, 1932, in the state of Georgia to the late Johnnie and Jella Fluellen. She was the devoted wife of Cecil Edward Sr. (deceased) and loving mother of Cecil Jr. (deceased), Dianne, Timothy, Kenneth, Mona (deceased) and Margo.

She had 13 grandchildren, Teshonda, Tia, Ebony, Desmond, Tim Jr., Alexandria, Danielle, Briana, Alexander, Christopher, Sierra, Robert, and Paul Jr. She had 19 great-grandchildren, Nyree, Trinity, Shayla, Shianne, Sade, Simmone, Xavier, Zoe, Marley, Tim III, De’Andria, Donnie Jr., Logan, London, Landon, Julien, Amaya, Imani and Lee.

Her only brother, Johnnie Fluellen, lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one son and one daughter. She will be deeply missed by all that know her.

Upon settling in Sikeston, Missouri, she was employed as a cook at the Hunter Acres Nursing Home. Her passion for cooking and baking was demonstrated by many requests for sweet potato and pecan pies and salmon patties. She loved serving as a foster grandparent at Sikeston Kindergarten for several years before her retirement. She was a long-time member at Shady Acre Church of Christ.

The funeral service will be held at Shady Acres Church of Christ, 1440 Ables Road, in Sikeston on Oct. 21, 2023, at 10 a.m.
