Combine catches fire in cotton field

A combine caught fire around 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, in a cotton field off Highways FF and 60 near Sikeston, according to Sgt. Tyler Rowe, public information officer for Sikeston Department of Public Safety. Fire crews were dispatched to the scene, where the combine was fully engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived. Sikeston DPS personnel with Morehouse Fire were able to extinguish the fire, Rowe said.
