Wish granted

At the Cotton Carnival Parade, there was a larger group of people walking, carrying the crosses and calling out the name of Jesus. It was really nice to see. I wish the Democrat had taken a picture and put it in the paper.

We took many photos from the parade, and photos of the Carry the Cross group, along with others, ran in the Friday, Oct. 6 edition of the Standard Democrat.

Republicans should look at themselves

In today’s paper dated Oct. 6, Rep. Jason Smith is accusing the Democrats of ousting Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House. He fails to mention that in January of this year, the Republicans ... It took four days with 15 rounds of voting and each time they would allow for more things to be taken way from the Speaker. One of these things was that any one member of the Republican party could ask for the Speaker to be removed at any time. And this is what happened and so it is the fault of the Republican Party theirselves [sic] that McCarthy is no longer the Speaker of the House.

Isn’t it ironic?

I wonder why Rep. Jason Smith is suddenly concerned about the rule of law. During Donald Trump’s presidency, he showed no concern for anyone disregarding the rule of law. Ironic, huh? As a Republican, I’m very concerned about the future of our party. Right now, it seems to be a clown car with no one driving.

Controlling simple people

Some people are so simple that they know very little outside of their propaganda system that controls their thoughts. They read little, certainly not real newspapers who strive to present both sides and provoke thought. They seek no facts outside those who feed them. They question nothing — even facts they witness themselves or that are totally illogical. They seek not truth or understanding. One of the founders of our great nation said: Any nation that is ignorant and free never has been and never will be. Minds can always be controlled by propaganda fed by people who understand how to control the simple. Just study FOX and their emails and admissions in the $750 million lawsuit where they stated: If we don’t tell them what we want to hear, they will just change the channels. It’s all about money.
