Lilbourn man arraigned on drug charges
LILBOURN, Mo — A Lilbourn man was arraigned Monday, Oct. 23 on drug charges.
William Everett Fields, 47, entered a not guilty plea Monday before Judge Joshua Underwood on charges of first degree trafficking drugs or attempt and tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution. He is being held in the Mississippi County Jail with bond set at $50,000 cash or surety.
Fields was arrested Oct. 19 by New Madrid County Sheriff's Department deputies who were dispatched to a residence in Lilbourn after receiving a call of a female being held against her will by an individual brandishing a firearm. When deputies arrived, they took Fields into custody. Also as part of their investigation a large quantity of methamphetamine, U.S. currency and a firearm were seized, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department.
Fields is scheduled to return to court at 10 a.m. Oct. 30.
