MONROE COUNTY, Miss. — Rita Mae Gross Crump, 40, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, in Monroe County.

Born on Aug. 22, 1982, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, she was a daughter to David “Steve” Gross and Petra J. Garner. She lived in Monroe County for several years and she worked at the Aberdeen, Mississippi, Marina.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Oct. 28, 2023, at Morley Baptist Church in Morley, Missouri. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home of Amory, Mississippi, is assisting the family locally.

She is survived by one daughter, Jalynn J. Johnson of Bragg City, Missouri; son, Wesley C. White of Vanduser, Missouri; mother, Petra J. Garner (Tom) of Bragg City; father, David “Steve” Gross (Robin) of Vanduser; sister, Stephanie Casey (Jake) of Vanduser; brother, Blake Garner of Bragg City; stepsisters, Candice Crow (Michael) of Cape Girardeau and Jerrica Schlosser (Drew) of Scott City, Missouri; stepbrother, David McKnight (Natalie) of Sikeston, Missouri; grandmothers, Rita Belue of Aberdeen and Darlene Garner of Sikeston; four aunts, Vickie Wallace of Granite City, Missouri, Gracie Stovall of Morley; Reba Somers of Sikeston and Peggy Guyton of Aberdeen, MS; 5 uncles, Jimmy, Jerry, and Joe Belue of Aberdeen, George Gross of Morehouse, Missouri, and Don Cross of St. Louis, Missouri; stepaunts, Patty Smith (Lane), Barbara Brown (Billy) of Sikeston, Peggy Bright (Kenny) of Crowder, Missouri, Brenda Bryant (Ronnie) of Vanduser and Angie Sloan of Jackson, Missouri; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by grandfathers, Jim Belue, Tom Gross, Carol Garner and Harley Davison; grandmothers, Ethel Mae and Tilda Davison; aunts, Lucy Dudley, Betty Holland, Virginia Sue Swan, and Jane Groff; uncles, John Belue, Tom Gross Jr., William “Buddy” Gross, Roy Gross, and Fred Gross.
