Ignoring history

I don’t think people understand the threat to our American system of government we face today. The Republican Party is trying to place Jim Jordan in one of the most powerful positions in our government. He ignored lawful subpoenas from the very organization he seeks to lead. He was the most involved member of Congress in the Republican-attempt to overthrow our government on Jan. 6. He is consumed with hate and vengeance, and he may soon be third in line to succession of the President of the United States. He has studied Hitler well, and we ignore history.

Wanted: Barking dog ordinance

Hello, I’m calling about barking dogs. Why is there not a law about barking dogs and their owners. Why is it there is a loud music ordinance but you don’t have one for dogs? I lie in bed and listen to dogs bark and their owners need to take care of them and make sure they’re not annoying the neighbors. Thank you.

Blame it on the Republicans

How can Jason Smith have the audacity to blame the Democratic Party for not supporting the Republican candidates for House speaker? The Republican Party is the House majority and should select their own candidate, not the Democrats. The divided Republican Party itself won’t support a candidate. Blame is on the Republicans, which includes Jason Smith.
