Home destroyed in Sikeston fire

About 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, officers with Sikeston Department of Safety responded to a report of a structure fire in the 800 block of Mary Street, according to Sgt. Tyler Rowe, public information officer for Sikeston DPS. When fire division personnel arrived on scene, they advised the residence was fully involved and immediately went into fire suppression and extinguishment operations, Rowe said. As of early Tuesday, Oct. 31, the cause of the fire was not under investigation, and all occupants were able to safely evacuate the residence, Rowe said. Sikeston DPS was assisted by Morehouse Fire Department and Scott County Rural Fire Protection.
