SIKESTON — Billy Ray Clayton Jr., age 56, passed away on Nov. 19, 2023, at his home in Sikeston.
He was born on Dec. 9, 1966, in Sikeston, to the late Billy Ray and Patricia Jean Whitaker Clayton Sr. Billy owned C&C Motorsports & Racing in Sikeston and Jackson, Missouri, Sikeston Race Park and the Amsoil Midwest Extreme Dirt Track National Series. He earned a lifetime achievement in EDT Racing, ATV, Wing Karts, Motorcycles, Sprint cars and more various dirt track racing throughout his life.
He is survived by one daughter, Bethany Clayton of Sikeston; two sons, Brandon (Corey) Clayton of Chicago, Illinois, and Bryan (Bailie) Clayton of Sikeston; one sister, Michelle Clayton of Sikeston; six grandchildren, Ella Barrett, Colton Barrett, Hunter Barrett, Remington Chidester, Emerson Chidester and Beckett Clayton; one niece, Autumn Clayton; his stepfather, Marvin Ohmes; his girlfriend, Jessica Meloy, and her children, Jax Meloy, Jace Meloy and Emily Meloy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Burial will follow in Silent Hill Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Kevin Armstrong, Ronnie Hill, Cody Barrett, Mike Garner, Rusty Tanner, Clay Mattison and Chad Meloy.
