Kharis Andrews, daughter of Sharaye (Lavel) Gilmore of Sikeston and Kwane Andrews of California, is the Standard Democrat’s Calendar Girl for December. Andrews, a finalist in the 2022 Miss Sikeston Contest, attends the University of Missouri-Columbia on an honors track to pursue a Bachelor of Science in nursing with a minor in public health. She plans to continue her education in order to become a nurse anesthetist or family nurse practitioner.
