Bring your own lunch

This is in reply to the Nov. 18 (Speakout) lady complaining about the free food given at the Sikeston Public Schools. If your children don’t like the food, then you could get off your butt and make them breakfast at home and also pack a lunch for them. My mother worked full time and made our breakfast and packed our lunch daily. My schools did not provide free lunches, and it was a treat to occasionally eat warm prepared school food. I don’t really believe that the school served your children molded food. If your daughter is in high school and doesn’t like the food, she is old enough to make and pack her own lunch.

Thank you for Thanksgiving meal

I would like to thank all the contributors and workers who provided the Thanksgiving meals at the VFW (in Sikeston). Hopefully, it will continue in the future.
