Dotti Gardner
MATTHEWS, Mo. — Dotti Gardner, age 80, passed away on Dec. 20, 2023, at Cotton Point Living Center in Matthews.
She was born on Dec. 12, 1943, in Gideon, Missouri, to the late Gail and Dorothy Oakley Harrison.
On Sept. 12, 1964, in Sikeston, Missouri, she married Larry Gardner who survives of the home in Matthews.
She retired after 31 years as a fourth grade teacher for Matthews Elementary School in Matthews. Then after that, she was an adviser for 10 years for SEMO College in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, grading students.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Sikeston.
She is survived by one son, John Gardner (Toni Curtis) of Matthews; one grandson, J Lee Gardner (Megan Harper) of Matthews; and two great-grandsons, Rylan Turner and Bennett Turner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Harrison.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with the Rev. Paullester Walker, pastor of Wesley United Methodist in Sikeston, and Brother Mike Cartwright, pastor of Assembly of God Church in Canalou, Missouri, officiating.
Pallbearers will be all her students.
