SALCEDO, Mo. — Glen Leamon Deal of Salcedo passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 77 years and 1 day. He was born on Jan. 29, 1947, in Pope County, Arkansas, to William O. “Skeet" Deal and Mary Louisa Taft Deal. Glen graduated from Richland High School in 1964.

He honorably served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968 and ranked as Third Class Petty Officer, E4. He was aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard and received medals for his service in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Skeet” and Mary Taft Deal; six brothers, Junior Deal, Bill Deal, Charles Deal, Robert Deal, Farrel Deal and infant brother, Danny Deal; and one sister, Edna Marion.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Clonch of Dexter, Missouri; three grandsons, Ryan (Lindsey) Jackson, Seth (Shayna) Jackson, and Chance (Breanna) McCoy and two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Ben Jackson. He will also be sadly missed by five brothers, Carl (Carolyn Deal) of St. Peters, Jim (Joann) Deal of Medford, Oregon, Ken (Wanda) Deal of Williamsville, Darrel (Sheryl) Deal of Auburn, Pennsylvania, Carrol (Gayle) Deal of Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Nina Miller of Circle City, Missouri; and nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with his brother, Carrol Deal, officiating.

Burial will follow at the Missouri Veteran Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, with full military honors.

Honored to be pallbearers are Dale Deal, Jimmy Deal, Jeff Marion, Matthew Marion, Tony Littrell and Ray McGuire.

Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Heuring, Greg Heuring and Joey Heuring.
