Woman charged following dispute
NEW MADRID, Mo. — On Feb. 1, an officer took a report regarding the theft of a truck.
The complainant said he had been incarcerated for approximately two weeks and in that time a man that was staying with him had taken his truck and sold it for scrap. The officer contacted several local scrapyards and found where the complainant’s truck had been sold for scrap during the time he was in jail.
The scrapyard had a copy of the driver’s license for who sold them the truck and information was forwarded to the New Madrid County Prosecutor’s Office for the filing of formal charges.
On the morning of Feb. 4, an officer responded to the 900 block of Mott Street for a disturbance.
An argument had occurred between a man and his ex-girlfriend, who had kicked in the front door of his home during the argument. The woman denied that she damaged the door, but several witnesses at the scene corroborated the man’s story.
She was issued a summons to appear in court on a charge of property damage.
