Kate Taylor is NMCC homecoming queen

NEW MADRID, Mo. — This year’s New Madrid County Central High School basketball homecoming theme of a “Sweet Taste of Victory” couldn’t have been more appropriate. The Eagles defeated the Caruthersville Tigers, 82-43, on Feb. 6 to win their homecoming game.

Prior to the game, NMCC senior Kate Taylor was crowned the homecoming queen by Jadis Jones, a senior on the basketball team and student body president.

The daughter of Kristy and Joey Taylor, Taylor is a member of Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Green and Gold Club, Student Council, FBLA, SkillsUSA and National Art Honor Society. Also she is a member of the Lady Eagles softball team, serves as the senior class secretary, is on the honor roll with distinction and is in the 4.0 GPA Club.

Taylor was escorted by Lee Kenedy, son of Gary and Christie Kenedy.

Jones is the son of LaNikki Jackson and Craig Perkins.

Other members of the homecoming court included senior maids, Makayla Birdwell, granddaughter of Harold and Lois Pruitt, and Alexis Boggs, daughter of Rachael Lewis and Lucian Boggs. Escorting Birdwell was Kayden Minner, son of Veronica Hamilton and Byron Minner, while Boggs was escorted by BJ Williamson, son of Tacora Robinson and Brandon Williamson.

The junior maid was Ayrasun Roberts, daughter of Anthony and Rachael Roberts. Escorting Roberts was Ramond Brooks, son of Phillip and Latiece Brooks.

Serving as the sophomore homecoming maid was Laura Kate Johnson, daughter of Ben and Heather Johnson. She was escorted by Charlie Resonno III, son of Lacrisha Branch.

Aubrey Aycock, the daughter of Julie and Bobby Aycock, was the freshman maid. Her escort was Martayvious Walton, son of Angela Walton.
