SPRING-LIKE WEATHER

Local resident Mike Rouggly enjoyed the warm, spring-like weather Wednesday, Feb. 21 while fishing at the Sikeston Recreation Complex Pond. The catch-and-keep trout fishing season is underway at the Sikeston Recreation Complex Pond. The trout were stocked in November by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) to give anglers a winter fishing opportunity. Since Feb. 1, any bait may be used, and four trout may be kept regardless of size. All anglers between the ages of 16 and 64 must have a valid Missouri fishing permit, and any angler harvesting trout must also possess a trout permit. The trout fishing at Sikeston Recreation Complex Pond is a partnership between MDC and the Sikeston Parks and Recreation.
