1 killed, 1 injured in New Madrid County crash

SIKESTON — A Puxico, Missouri, man was killed and a Scott City, Missouri, man injured in a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday, Feb. 28 in New Madrid County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 9:11 a.m. on US Highway 60, one mile west of Sikeston, as the northbound vehicle driven by Jerry L. Jones, 39, of Puxico pulled into the path of the westbound vehicle driven by Harold J. Crail, 65, of Scott City.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:05 a.m. by New Madrid County coroner George DeLisle and taken to DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville.

Crail sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
