Residence damaged in Sikeston fire

About 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 Sikeston Department of Public Safety’s Fire Division responded to the 3300 block of State Highway BB for a structure fire, according to DPS. First arriving units to the fire encountered heavy flames and smoke at the residence. Fire Division personnel were able to extinguish the fire, but due to the quick spread and heavy flames, there was extensive damage to the residence. Sikeston DPS commended Scott County Rural Fire Protection District and Morehouse Fire Department for their assistance and South Scott County Ambulance District for being on stand by to provide medical attention if needed.
