Lucy Day
SIKESTON Lucy Marie Day, age 73, passed away March 15, 2024, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston.
She was born Sept. 26, 1950, in East Prairie, Missouri, daughter of the late Troy Duke and Fay Hopper-Duke.
She was a member of Olive Branch General Baptist Church in Essex, Missouri, and had worked for National Lock before retiring.
On Nov. 3, 1979, she was married to William F. JR Day, who preceded her in death on June 18, 2019.
Survivors include: two stepsons, Dale (Linda) Day of Morehouse, Missouri, and Hosea (Lisa) Day of Clarkton, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Carol Hughes of Cabot, Arkansas, and Debbie Morris of Dexter, Missouri; three brothers, Harold (Sue) Duke, Earl (Linda) Duke and Larry (Louise) Duke; five sisters, Martha (Thomas) Jackson, Barbara (Dudley) Hamilton, Louise (Ray) Clark, Brenda (Tim) Cranford and Sue Ziegenhorn Williams; 19 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation held Thursday, March 21 from noon until time of memorial services at 1 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Dudley Hamilton, pastor of Olive Branch General Baptist Church will officiate.
