NEW MADRID, Mo. — Marston voters did elect a mayor.

Amy Brown, New Madrid County Clerk, said the unofficial total following the Tuesday, April 9 election was incorrect for the city of Marston. According to Brown, prior to the election she found an error on the ballot, which was corrected, however the ballot reading machine was not reprogrammed to read the new ballot resulting in the machine failing to read any of the ballots voted by Marston residents.

The official results, which were available to political subdivisions for certification on Monday, April 8 show Julie Brock receiving 38 votes for mayor.
