SIKESTON — Pansy Scharenborg, age 89, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born on March 18, 1935, in Sikeston, to the late Charles and Ollie Miller Alexander.

On June 21, 1991, in Sikeston, she married Joseph “Joe” Scharenborg who survives of the home.

Pansy graduated from Sikeston High School in 1954. She was the secretary for former Sen. John Dennis from 1976-1992 before retiring.

She was raised in the Shady Acres Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband, Joe, of 32 years, she is survived by two sons, Jerry Inman of Sikeston and Danny (Cindy) Scharenborg of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three daughters, Cindy Inman Drury of Naples, Florida, Laurie (Scott) Wheeler of Essex, Missouri, and LeAnn McGowan of San Diego, California; 17 grandchildren, Ashley (Adam) Gerry of Naples, Florida, Cody (Jessica) Ryan of Sikeston, Logan Inman of Sikeston, Drew (LeAnn) Ryan of Sikeston, Dylan Drury of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Lauren (Michael) LaPlant of Sikeston, Katherine Inman of Sikeston, Court Story of Charleston, Missouri, Courtland Scharenborg of Baton Rouge, Mya McGowan of San Diego, California, Christian McGowan of San Diego, Jeremy Ryan of St. Louis, Missouri, and Matthew Ryan of Columbia, Missouri; 16 great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Cassandra, Isabella, Aniston, and Parker Gerry; Will and Clyde Dawson; Raygan and Thomas Ryan; Rylan, Layne and Lillyanne Ryan; Scarlett and Walker LaPlant; Hayden and Harper Ryan; one sister, Violet Dreschel.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny B, Charles and Hester Alexander; and one sister, Ollie B Freelander.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from noon until time of graveside service at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be Scott Wheeler, Dylan Drury, Drew Ryan, Cody Ryan, Court Story and Michael LaPlant.
