Paul Moore
MATTHEWS, Mo. — Paul Emmett Moore, age 97, of Matthews passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
He was born on Jan. 14, 1927, in Matthews, to the late William Conner Moore Sr. and Sarah Mable Moore.
On March 26, 1947, in New Madrid, Missouri, he married Betty Lou Holland Moore who preceded him in death on May 16, 2021.
Paul was a lifelong farmer. He had been a member of the American Legion Post 595 in New Madrid, Missouri.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas (Emily) Moore of Sikeston, Missouri, and Doyle (Rhoda) Moore of Symsonia, Kentucky; one daughter, Diane Moore of Bowman, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Moore; one brother, W.C. Moore Jr.; and two sisters, Colleen Vartanian and Lucille Givens.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Sonny Jackson, pastor of Crow Methodist Church in Matthews, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Matthews Cemetery in Matthews with full military honors.
Pallbearers will be: Tim Moore, Daniel Moore, Caleb Moore, Ethan Moore, Taylor Moore and Cooper Towe.
