1 adult, 3 children injured in Saturday crash

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — Four people, including three children, were injured in an accident at 2:35 p.m. Saturday, May 11.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a sport utility vehicle driven by Erica D. Ivie, 34, of Portageville was northbound on Interstate 55 approximately four miles north of Portageville, when it struck the driver’s side of a tractor rig driven by James Dierestil, 36, of Lauderdale Lake, Fla. The impact caused the SUV to overturn and the tractor rig to veer off the east side of the roadway into the ditch.

The Portageville Rescue was paged to assist in the accident.

Ivie was moderately injured in the accident. Also injured were passengers in her vehicle, an 8-year-old male passenger who had moderate injuries and a 1-year-old female and a 2-year-old female, who both had minor injuries. All were taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.
