SIKESTON — Anna Katherine Voelker, age 79, passed away on May 20, 2024, at her home in Sikeston.

She was born on June 26, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to the late Francis Xavier and Alma Jean Morgan Schumacher.

On June 22, 1968, in Sikeston, she married Charles Eli Voelker who preceded her in death on March 26, 1998.

Anna was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston. Anna was a member of the Bootheel Conservative Republicans.

She was a Registered Nurse at Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri, from 1985 until her retirement in 1998. She was a Registered Nurse for over 20 years.

She is survived by six children: five daughters, Dana Welch of Jefferson, City, Bethany (Jeff) Tillmann of Jefferson City, Mary (Paul) Markland of Bertrand, Jeanne (Michael) Chickanosky of Kirkwood, Missouri, and Anne Marie (Daniel) Welch of Jefferson City; one son, Albert (Jamie) Voelker of Peculiar, Missouri, as well as one special relative, Maggie (Brian) Mathus of Wildwood, Missouri; 14 grandchildren, Morgan (Hunter) Ehrenfeld, Alexander Welch, Cody Tillmann, Madison (Zack) Carr, Tessa Tillmann, Isabelle Chickanosky, Charley Anne Chickanosky, Luke Voelker, Gabriel Voelker, Nicholas Welch, Joseph Welch, Jonathan Welch, Carter Mathus and Riley Mathus; one great-granddaughter, Dakota Carr; two siblings, Teresa Arndt of Sikeston and Mark Schumacher of Sikeston; and 16 nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Francis Schumacher of Sikeston, Alice Johnston of Warrenton, Missouri, Barbara Webb of Sikeston and Ruth Ann Voelker of Bertrand, Missouri.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 2 p.m. until time of the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 5 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston with Father Colby Elbert officiating.

Interment will be held in the Oak Gove Cemetery in Charleston, Missouri.
