Patrick Shelton
NEW HAMBURG, Mo. — Patrick Lee Shelton, age 37, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Bollinger County, Missouri, following an accident.
He was born on Aug. 16, 1986, the middle son to James "Jim" Shelton and Denise Jansen Shelton in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
His early years were spent on the family farm in Blodgett, Missouri, farming with his dad and obtaining an education at Kelly School District where he graduated. His parents instilled a strong work ethic that carried him through his study of Agronomy at Murray State University where he earned his degree. One week before graduation, he met his girl, Amy, and the connection was instant. They married on May 31, 2014, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton.
After graduation, Patrick returned to farming with Scott County Farms, the Hulshofs, where he stayed for 17 years, gaining the knowledge and skill set that would carry on with him to his next employment with Nobbe/John Deere as a Production and Precision Ag Specialist (IS specialist). He served many counties between Missouri and Illinois helping numerous farmers and excelling at his position.
His family, Amy and their children, were the only thing he loved more than hunting and farming. He never missed an opportunity to spend an evening on the T-ball field, a father-daughter dance or anything outdoors with his girls and little boy. He will always be remembered by the tickle fights and rowdy play with them, taking a side-by-side ride with his wife, or drinking a cold one with his brothers and best friends. The family gatherings were always filled with laughs, hugs and shared food.
Including his wife and mother, Patrick is survived by one grandmother, Louise Sobba Jansen of Chaffee, Missouri; two brothers, Brian (Shea) Shelton of Caruthersville, Missouri, and Chris (Casey Eskew) Shelton of Benton; two daughters, Kaylee Ann and Ava Grace; one son, Easton Matthew; one niece Sloane Shelton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and close friends.
Including his father, Patrick is preceded in death by two grandfathers, George Jansen and Vernon Shelton; one grandmother, Vercie Shelton; and a brother-in-law, Chris Green.
