Man dies after being struck by train in Bell City

BELL CITY, Mo. — A man was killed after being struck by a train early Thursday, May 30 in Bell City.

At about 7 a.m. Thursday, the Stoddard County Sheriff’s office received a call from Union Pacific Railroad regarding a male who had been struck by a train in Bell City, according to Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham.

“The Stoddard County Coroner's Office responded and pronounced the individual deceased at approximately 7:50 a.m.,” Stidham said in a news release. “The name of the male is not being released at this time.”

The Coroner’s Office was assisted by the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. No further information is currently available.
