Sikeston man dies in two-vehicle crash in Bollinger County

PATTON, Mo. — A Sikeston, Missouri, man died after his vehicle struck a semi-truck Thursday, July 11 in Bollinger County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 2:43 p.m. on Highway 72, nine miles west of Patton, as the westbound truck driven by James H. Cook, 69, of Sikeston crossed the center line of the road and struck the eastbound semi-truck operated by Cody R. Patton, 34, of Hollister, Missouri.
Cook was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:17 p.m. by Bollinger County Coroner Calvin Troxell and transported to the Bollinger County Morgue.
Patton received minor injuries and was taken by lance to Mercy Hospital of Perry County in Perryville, Missouri.
