Poplar Bluff man faces charges after allegedly trying to break into vehicles in Miner
MINER, Mo. — A Poplar Bluff, Missouri, man faces drug-related and vehicle tampering charges following an incident early Saturday, July 13 in Miner.
At 8:42 a.m. Saturday the Miner Police Department received a report of a subject attempting to break into vehicles in the Burger King parking lot, according to a post made by Miner Police Department via its social media.The on-duty officer responded and located the suspect in the parking lot of Drury Inn.
“The suspect was arrested and also found to be in possession of a glass pipe with residue, which tested positive for methamphetamine and under the influence of methamphetamine. The suspect was a homeless man from Poplar Bluf identified as Ronald Burgess,” the post said.
Burgess was formally charged through the Scott County Court and a warrant issued for the following offenses: possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, Assault 4th, Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 2nd, and 2 counts of Trespassing 1st.
He received a $40,000 cash or surety bond.
