Brenda Westmoreland

CARRIERE, Miss. — Brenda Payne Westmoreland, daughter of the late Alvin and Iva Payne, was born on Thursday, July 6, 1950, in Risco, Missouri, and departed this life on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at her residence in Carriere at the age of 74 years, 10 days.

On Aug. 10, 1968, she was united in marriage to Michael (Mickey) Westmoreland. He survives in their home in Carriere.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Michael Westmoreland and his wife, Ann, of Tucson, Arizona, and Jason Westmoreland of Carriere; a daughter, Mary-Beth Westmoreland and her husband, Josh of Carriere; five grandchildren, Brayden Westmoreland of Tucson, Rilen Summers of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Stevey Klingel, Dani Boese, of Vanduser, Missouri, and Jaxson Westmoreland of Carriere; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Iva Payne; two brothers, Herbert Ritchey and Robert Ritchie; and a sister, Ruth Ashley.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at noon at the First Baptist Church of Catron, Missouri, with Rev. Mike Kitchen officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until the time of service.

Burial will be in the Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
