MALDEN, Mo. — Carole Mayes, daughter of the late Glendale Teeters and Irene Corn Teeters, was born on Sunday, Dec. 18, 1938, in Clarkton, Missouri, and departed this life on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at her residence in Malden at the age of 85 years, 8 months.
Carole was a homemaker and member of the Malden Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
On June 24, 1955, in Hernando, Mississippi, she was united in marriage to Charles "Bud" Mayes. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2018.
Survivors include a son, Charles "Chuck" Mayes and wife, Rhonda, of Sikeston; two daughters, Donna Dill and husband, Rod, of Malden, Leigh Ann Hollis of Malden; brother, Donald Lee Teeters of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sister, Vicki Iverson of Houston, Texas; half sisters, Brenda Havens of Springfield, Missouri, Barbara Clark of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden with Mr. James Powell officiating.
Powell Funeral and Cremation Services in Kennett, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
