ORAN, Mo. — Thomas Brashear, son of the late Clarence “Pack” Brashear and Sherma (Nation) Brashear, was born on March 2, 1951, in Sikeston, Missouri, and departed his life on Monday, Sept. 2, 2024, at the Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 73 years.
He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving in the Vietnam War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 5368 in Morley, Missouri. He was a former employee of the Carpenters Union in Cape Girardeau and a self-employed Carpenter until his retirement.
On July 15, 1970, he was united in marriage to Sharon Menz in Cape Girardeau. Mrs. Menz survives of the home in Oran.
Besides his wife, survivors include: two sons, Tony Brashear and Travis Brashear both of Oran; one sister, Sondra (Charles) Trankler of Oran; six grandchildren, Joey, Jake, Alexa, Caroline, Tyler and Colten; also, by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dick and Danny Brashear.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran.
Graveside services will be conducted at a later date with full military services.
