The Guessing Game with SCC numbers

I'll take a blind stab at it haha. I'll first guess that he didn't pass Daddy or Timmons, and that one of them ranks first all-time scoring, prolly Timmons. I'll also say Otto might be in the top 5, but if he is he is like 4th or 5th. I wouldn't even be surprised if someone like Bobby Hatchet that Otto played with has more points than him.

Bubba didn't play a full Varsity season his Freshman year, just goin off that I'll say Marcus still has him beat because Marcus did. I would say Otto Sr and Bubba are 2 and 3 but I don't know what order. No way Bobby is ahead of Bubba. Bobby didn't play Varsity as a freshman and rarely scored as a Sophomore.

1- Marcus 2- Bubba 3- Otto Sr 4- Paul Hale 5- Terry Bell

4 and 5 were a shot in the dark

My memory is short...but I wouldn't be surprised if Drew Thomas is in the top 10 somewhere, if not top 5.

I wanted to add Drew, Farm. He was a 4 year starter on the Varsity and averaged over 20 a game his Jr and Sr years. I would bet he is top 10 if not top 5 also.

Drew was also who I was thinking about when I said someone that Otto played with. I didn't realized Drew had more varisty than Bobby, so he could very well be up there high.

Terry Blissett might be top 5.

I'm not going to spoil the fun, but if someone is dying to know Otto's totals I included them in a story I wrote about him before he left for college. Happy hunting! (Although, admittedly, it would be easier to wait for Chris to reveal the numbers. Haha.)

Here is what I am going with:

1. Marcus Timmons

2. Bubba Porter

3. Drew Thomas

4. Otto Porter Sr.

5. Moon Timmons

I know Marcus had just over 2500pts and if I remember right, Bubba didn't quite get there. Drew played all 4 years on the varsity and averaged right around 20 a game. Otto Sr. only played 3 years of varsity basketball, yet had over 2000pts in his career. I'm taking a stab and going with Moon Timmons for the 5th spot.

A couple of other names to think about: D.D. Gillespie, Dominitrix Johnson, and Corey Gipson. These are all players who went to SCC for different parts of their high school careers and ended up with somewhere around 2000pts each.

Not a bad list Crash. In fact, that is the exact order that I would list them. Timmons is far and away the leader. Drew was such a scoring machine for four years. The 5th one I am unsure so I would go with Moon as well.

Dominitrix and Corey would not be close on the SCC scoring list since they were only there as freshmen and D.D. I believe was just there for his final two years. But all three, of course, were very prolific scorers, particularly Gipson at Richland where he would throw in 50 on occasion.

My other potential No. 5 guys on the list are Jerry Porter or Melvin Porter. A darkhorse candidate or two.....Jreece Johnson and John Fort. I believe both played four years of varsity.

Jreece is another good one. I remember when Jreece dropped around 35 on New Madrid when at the time most teams weren't scoring 35 on New Madrid.

I should have clarified my thoughts on Corey, Dom and D.D. a little better. What I was meaning is that all 3 were guys, who if they had stayed at SCC for all 4 years, could have been in the discussion for top 5 scorers in SCC history. It just continues to show, especially with Dom and Corey, how much talent SCC produced, but lost, over the years.

I agree on that Crash. No school in the area can boast the talent that SCC has had over the years with the exception of Charleston.

know this is off the SCC debate, but wonder who the top 5 career scorers are for Portageville. I agree that SCC has had the top talent over the years, but Charleston is right there and then I would say Portageville. They have had a lot of great players as well..

To sum it all up, Crash had it right.

1. Marcus Timmons -- 2,514 points (133 games)

2. Otto Porter, Jr. -- 2,480 points (117 games)

3. Drew Thomas -- 2,323 points (107 games)

4. Otto Porter, Sr. -- 2,151 points (87 games)

5. Anthony "Moon" Timmons -- 1,807 points (83 games)

Jerry Porter (1,791) and Terry Blissett (1,745) are sixth and seventh. That leaves D.D. Gillespie at eighth, but I'm not sure I would count his numbers (1,772) towards an SCC list. They have his totals as all-time SCC, but we all know he spent time at Bell City during his career. Jreece Johnson (1,682) and Melvin Porter (1,572) round out the Top 10.

Also, Otto Sr. holds the SCC record for most rebounds: 1,733 (UNTOUCHABLE!) The next on the list is Kenny Bright with 1,463 followed by Marcus Timmons with 1,437. "Bubba" stands at fourth with 1,192. Fifth is Fred Rowe with 1,180 in just 57 games.
