I have been with the Standard Democrat sports department since 2007. I took over as sports editor in May of 2011 and have been slightly crazy about sports since I can remember. I attended Southeast Missouri State University and Scott County Central High School. I co-created our sports web show "The Last Word" and my two children, Elijah and CJ. I was married to my wife, Angie, in May of 2014. I love to golf, I am an avid NBA2K gamer and root for the Fighting Irish on Saturdays.

For the first time Otto Porter joins the Wizards for practice

He's finally made it to practice. Now how long will it be until he's game-ready is the next question.

After missing all of training camp and the preseason, Otto Porter participated in his first practice with the Washington Wizards earlier today. A timetable has not been set for his official return, however, and Otto himself still calls it day-to-day but it looks like his strained right hip flexor sustained during a pickup game Sept. 14 is starting to heal. I know most of you, like me, are excited to see "Bubba" get back on the court and join his NBA team in Washington so this report by Wizards Insider Michael Lee from The Washington Post is the first sign of good news to come.
