On Thursday, the City of Portageville celebrated its 72nd Annual National Soybean Festival in a grand way with its Grand Parade.

Hailey McGowan Pipkins performed the National Anthem before the Grand Parade started.

The North Pemiscot Marching Band doing another excellent job. They won First Place in the non-MSHAA high school bands category!

Trying to photo bomb the parade judges picture are Thing 1 and Sheriff Woody from Toy Story.

Leading off in the Bands category was the Portageville High School Band under the direction of Matt Hendrix. The band keeps improving and growing each year.

The Portageville Elementary School did a good job on their float on The Giving Tree. Several Elementary teachers passed out books to nearly every children on the street.

Railey Bradfield is the Missouri High School rodeo queen.

Bradfield is the 17 yr old daughter of Toby and Kelli Bradfield of Portageville.

The Grand Marshal this year is the Brandfield family.

A truck load of home grown soybeans, the main reason for the Soybean Festival.

The New Madrid County VFW Post 7183 located in Lilbourn. One of the oldest Veterans in the area, Francis Hulshof, waves to folks riding in the WWII Jeep.

Taking Third Place in the Floats division goes to the Fisher Delta Research Center with Jack and the Bean Stalk.

The winning entries from Tuesday’s Kiddie Parade were able to participate and be judged again with a different set of judges. Earning the First Place title was the Little Red Riding Hood. They received Third in the Kiddie Parade.

Taking First Place in the Grand Parade floats category is The Old Broads Plus One float with Dick and Jane and dog Spot.

Taking Second Place in the Grand Parade floats division is the North Pemiscot FBLA Club.

Taking Second Place in the Grand Parade Kiddie category was the “They’re off to see the Wizard” float. In Tuesday's Kiddie Parade, they received First Place Honors.

The 2019 Soybean Queen is Bre Parent of Kennett, Mo. She is the daughter of Angie Jones.

The Third Place float went to Charlotte's Web. In the Kiddie Parade, they received Second Place.
