New Madrid Christmas Parade

New Madrid hosted its sixth annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 15. A large crowd gathered along the streets to check out the more than 50 entries. In the band competition, first place went to New Madrid High County Central High School, second place, Caruthersville High School; third place Campbell High School and honorable mention to New Madrid County Central Middle School. In the floats division first place was won by First Baptist Church at Lilbourn; second place, Riverbed Botanical Society; and third place Amped Youth Group with Matthews Elementary School earning honorable mention.

Several bands were featured in New Madrid's sixth annual Christmas Parade. A member of the Bernie High School band was among those displaying her holiday spirit.

The RIverbend Botanical Society wished everyone a very "Moo-y Christmas" with their float during the New Madrid Christmas Parade on Dec. 15. The group's float placed second in the competition.

The chilly temperatures and the drizzle didn't deter the crowd from coming out for the sixth annual New Madrid Christmas parade on Dec. 15. Youngsters found lots to see and enjoy during the parade which featured bands, floats and Santa Claus.

This year's theme for the New Madrid Chrismas Parade was a "Country Christmas." One float featured the favorite country past time, fishing, although the fish never managed to get hooked.
