Approximately 900 children from four elementary schools took part in the New Madrid Elementary Trunk or Treat event.

Levie Sutton, a cadet teacher at New Madrid Elementary School, and his mother, Cyd Sutton, a first grade teacher at the school, paired up for Halloween as bacon and an egg.

Many of those passing out candy to the more than 800 youngsters at the Trunk or Treat chose a theme for their table. The characters from the Wizard of Oz were recreated by Tri-County Community Counseling.
